Privacy Policy

MoneyWords is operated by 1001463290 ONTARIO INC. (“MoneyWords,” “we,” or “us”). This policy explains how information is handled by the MoneyWords iOS app and the money-words.org website.

Last updated: September 3, 2026

Our approach

MoneyWords does not require a MoneyWords account and does not request your name, email address, phone number, or financial-account information. The app does not display advertising. We use services for subscription management, app analytics, and measurement of the advertisements used to promote MoneyWords, as described below.

Information stored on your device

MoneyWords stores information needed to provide and personalize the app, including your selected topics and learning level, onboarding and backup settings, recently viewed term identifiers, and available learning records. Learning records may include:

This information remains on your device unless you choose to create an iCloud backup.

Optional private iCloud backup

If you manually create a backup or enable automatic backup, MoneyWords stores a copy of your settings and available learning records in the private CloudKit database associated with the iCloud account signed in on your device. MoneyWords checks whether iCloud is available but does not receive your iCloud email address or account credentials.

Private CloudKit data belongs to the iCloud user, counts toward that user’s iCloud storage, and is not visible in the developer portal by default. Apple processes this data according to its privacy and iCloud terms.

You can disable automatic backup or permanently delete the remote MoneyWords backup at any time from Settings → iCloud backup. Deleting the remote backup does not delete information stored locally on your device.

Subscriptions

Apple processes subscription purchases and payment information. RevenueCat receives non-linked purchase history, transaction identifiers, and entitlement status needed to validate Premium access and measure subscription events. MoneyWords does not receive your payment-card or bank-account details. Subscription records are managed by Apple under your App Store account.

App analytics and attribution

MoneyWords uses the Strict (no-IDFA) version of the AppsFlyer SDK to measure installs, app opens, paywall views, completion of the welcome flow, and the start of a trial or subscription confirmed by RevenueCat. Event information can include the time of the event, paywall placement, welcome-flow completion method, and the annual subscription product and content type. Trial and subscription conversion events do not include a price, currency, revenue amount, or store transaction identifier.

AppsFlyer also receives technical and attribution information, which can include an AppsFlyer installation identifier, Apple’s Identifier for Vendors (IDFV), IP address, device and operating-system information, app version, HTTP user-agent information, and campaign or referral information. These app- or device-level records are not necessarily anonymous simply because we do not collect your name. IP masking is not enabled in our AppsFlyer configuration.

The app does not access Apple’s advertising identifier (IDFA) and does not currently display an App Tracking Transparency permission prompt. This does not prevent the collection and sharing of the non-IDFA information described in this policy. Apple’s SKAdNetwork and AdAttributionKit can also provide delayed, privacy-limited attribution reports.

We do not include your selected topics, assessed learning level, quiz answers, saved learning records, name, email address, phone number, or financial-account information in the analytics events that MoneyWords sends to AppsFlyer.

Photos, notifications, speech, and sharing

MoneyWords requests add-only Photos access only when you ask to save a generated term card. The app does not upload your photo library.

Reminder schedules are provided to iOS solely to create local notifications. MoneyWords does not operate a push-notification server.

Spoken terms use Apple’s system speech technology. MoneyWords does not record your voice or use the microphone.

If you choose to share content, iOS presents its system share sheet. Information is sent only to the destination you select and is then subject to that destination’s privacy practices.

How we use and share information

Information handled by the app is used to operate features, personalize learning, restore purchases, provide an optional private backup, and measure app acquisition and engagement. Subscription information is processed by RevenueCat, and the event and technical information described above is processed by AppsFlyer.

Through AppsFlyer, we share selected installation, app-open, and conversion-event reports (also called postbacks) with configured advertising partners, including Meta Ads and TikTok, for attribution, campaign reporting, and advertising optimization. Our Meta Ads event-sharing configuration includes all acquisition sources: events from organic installations and installations attributed to other advertising partners may also be shared with Meta, not only events from installations referred by Meta.

Meta Advanced Data Sharing is enabled. This allows AppsFlyer to send Meta event reports with available non-IDFA device-level information, including IP address, IDFV, and user-agent information, even when IDFA is unavailable. The fields supplied depend on the event, platform, and integration’s privacy controls. We do not supply names, email addresses, phone numbers, or Facebook login details for Meta Advanced Matching, and we do not send subscription price, currency, or revenue in these conversion events.

These attribution reports do not give advertising partners access to your quiz answers, selected topics, saved terms, private iCloud backup, or financial accounts. For more information about provider processing, see the AppsFlyer Services Privacy Policy and Meta Privacy Policy.

Retention and deletion

On-device information remains until you change it, delete it from Settings → Data & privacy, or delete the app. “Delete all MoneyWords data” removes local learning records, preferences, reminder schedules and delivered reminders, widget content, and the private MoneyWords iCloud backup. If iCloud is unavailable, the app clearly offers a local-only deletion instead of claiming the remote backup was removed.

Deleting MoneyWords data does not cancel or refund an Apple subscription, remove App Store transaction records, or remove term-card images that you previously saved to Photos. Apple manages those records and subscription billing under your Apple account.

RevenueCat and AppsFlyer retain the limited service data described above according to their service and legal requirements.

Deleting local MoneyWords data does not automatically erase event reports already sent to service providers or advertising partners. You can contact support@money-words.org with questions or requests about access, correction, deletion, or objection to processing. We may need information to locate the relevant app or device records and verify a request; we will handle it in accordance with applicable requirements and provider capabilities.

Because MoneyWords has no separate user account, there is no MoneyWords login account to delete. The in-app deletion control instead removes the app-managed learning data described above.

Website and support communications

Cloudflare, our website hosting, email-routing, and security provider, may process standard technical request data such as an IP address and browser or request information to deliver and protect this website. We do not use the website for advertising or cross-site tracking.

If you email support, we and our email providers process your address, message, and any information you voluntarily include so we can answer your request. Please do not send passwords, payment-card details, or sensitive financial records.

Children

MoneyWords is an educational app and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. Purchases by minors should be authorized by a parent or legal guardian through the applicable Apple account controls.

Security

We use Apple platform protections and private CloudKit storage for the app features described above. No storage or transmission method can be guaranteed completely secure.

Changes

We may update this policy when the app or legal requirements change. The current version and its update date will always appear on this page.
